Biopharma Academy of Clinical Research Connects with Future Healthcare Professionals at Houston Career Institute

Rachel Koenning, Program Director at Biopharma Academy of Clinical Research, is scheduled to meet with medical assistant and phlebotomy students at Houston Career Institute on Tuesday, June 30, 2026. The visit forms part of a wider effort to bring healthcare education closer to the clinical research industry.

At the event, the growing opportunities found within clinical research will be introduced to students, a field shaped by constant demand for new treatments, therapies, and medical innovations. For those training as medical assistants and phlebotomists, a close look at how clinical skills already being learned can be carried over into rewarding careers outside traditional healthcare settings will be offered during the session.

A range of roles will be discussed, from clinical research coordinators to positions in regulatory affairs and patient care. The goal is for students to recognize that much of their current training already lays the groundwork for these paths.

Engagements like this matter because they reach students early while career decisions are still being shaped. Hearing directly from someone working in the field tends to make these pathways feel more real and more reachable, giving students a clear sense of where their training could eventually lead.

Biopharma Academy remains committed to having ties between healthcare education and the clinical research workforce strengthened, with the aim of preparing students for the opportunities this growing field continues to offer.
